It's our second time to Kauai and we are so happy to be here!!!
We are staying in a vacation rental right across the street from Poipu Beach, near Brennecke's Bar and Grill, and Nukuomi Surf Shop.
Walk onto the beach at any point in the day, and gorgeous palm trees of all heights and sizes will greet you with open arms.
A view from the edge of the "peninsula" point, looking back towards our place. The mountains are amazing. Lots of black lava rocks sticking out of the sand, so be careful of your toes :) This island is supposed to be a great place to snorkel too, which I have yet to do here. This beach is super family-friendly, and a great place to see sea turtles and adorable monk seals!

The water is just SO clear and beautiful against the sand and black rocks.
A nice way to start or end any day in the Poipu area is a meal or some drinks at Kalapaki Joe's - they had a great breakfast, and good beers....not beer for breakfast of course, I instead chose the passion fruit mimosas! They close at about 10pm each night though, which is what we have found at most restaurants so far in the area.
